King Kluck IX: Return to Gensoukyo is the ninth title in the Main Timeline of the series. King Kluck receives a tip from an old friend, Reimu Hakurei, that Curcubita has resurrected inside Gensoukyo. Kluck decides to meet up with Reimu and go kill him again so his existence is wiped from reality entirely. However, to actually go deep into Gensoukyo, outsider males must be transformed into girls, so Kluck takes on the form of 'Katherine'.
It is preceded by King Kluck VIII: Seekers of Neo and concludes the Neo Islands Trilogy, and is followed by Shadow MegaKing Kluck X: On the Edge, the first part of the Dark King Duology.
